WELCOME to the season of Winter gardening.Hello, once again. The second winter season starts since our Website went 'live', so this means we are starting our second season of autumn tidying works all over again! I am pleased to say that all the lawns we have worked on have now returned to the green we like to see after the summer drought. We have helped these lawns along with some tender loving care and autumn feeds. I am also pleased to say that we have some good results in dealing with Leatherjackets and Chafer grubs. Lawns that have been effected have almost totally recovered with just some small areas in need of top dressing and over-seeding. These lawns will have a secondary application during late May / early June. I know I shouldn't say this, but our artificial lawns are still proving popular for clients that are looking for minimal maintenance, certainly no Leatherjackets or Chafer grubs here! The landscape work we are undertaking for out I.T. manager, as mentioned in our last notes, have now been completed and the before and after photos are now in the Case Histories section. Mr & Mrs Fishers' Comments:- Because of the summer droughts, the final soft landscaping works were delayed until the autumn. Talking of drought, we have experienced mature hedges suffering, these were mainly Privet and Beech. The leaky hose irrigation system worked very well on ones that we were able to work on with leaf recovery and new growth showing very quickly. In closing, I would like to welcome on board an addition to our design team, Jayne Pullen BSC, Landscape and Garden Designer, (Landscape Architect Part 2). Jayne, with her youth, has a modern outlook to the garden which should be of interest to the younger families amongst us looking fro a modern garden. That, combined with our wealth of experience in traditional gardens, makes us more than ready to receive any enquiry that you have for us! I will bring these notes to a close by wishing you all well for the festive season and a good winter season of gardening. If we can be of assistance, please, don't hesitate to contact us; or better still call in to see us at Redcroft Farm. Happy gardening! See you next season, Colin. |
